Mend a photo

How it works when time is short

In about a minute you'll see the photo mended, free. Choose the version that looks most like them.
Straight away after keeping it (£5.99), you can download the full-size file: 3840 pixels on the long side, which order of service printers and funeral directors can use.
For a slideshow, you also get before-and-after pictures and a short reveal clip.
A print or a frame is delivered in the UK: an A4 print usually in 3 to 7 working days, a framed copy in 4 to 7. If the service is sooner, download the file and a local printer can print it the same day.

Their face, as it was

This matters most of all. We compare every face in the mended version with your original. If a face has changed in any way, we keep the original face, cleaned up, rather than show you someone who isn't quite them.

If a face doesn't look right, tell us on your order page within 14 days and we'll make a stricter version free. You see exactly the picture you are buying in your preview, and a blurry or damaged original can only be improved so far, so there are no refunds or credits for how a face looks.

Choose the clearest face

A photo where their face is large and in focus mends best. A small face in a big group is kept as it was.

Photograph it flat

On a table, away from the window, filling the frame. Take it out of the frame or the album sleeve if you can.

Ask us anything

If you're unsure about anything, send us a message. We reply by email, usually within a working day.

Questions people ask us

Can I have a photo ready for the funeral this week?

Yes. The download is ready as soon as you keep the photo. Prints and frames take a few working days to arrive, so if the service is very soon, download the file and take it to a local printer.

Is the file good enough for an order of service?

The full-size file is 3840 pixels on the long side, enlarged for printing, which is plenty for an order of service, a card or an A4 print.

Can you make them look as they did later in life?

No. We only repair the photo you send. We never ask the image model to change anyone's age or expression, and we compare every face with your original.

Can someone retouch it by hand?

No person retouches photos at Ages Ago. If a face isn't right, the free stricter version is there instead.
